The Victorian Cottage Room is the largest guestroom at Rufus Tanner House bed and breakfast. Rich, warm wood tones in the fireplace mantle, the over the mantle mirror, furniture and Winsor bed will be the first thing you will notice. Two large windows overlook a small fruit orchard and large Maple trees on the front lawn and filtered sunlight fills the room in the late afternoon.

This room offers flexibility in sleeping arrangements because the spacious room has two beds a queen with an antique headboard and an antique Windsor bed. The Windsor bed (a Murphy-type bed) looks like an Armoire when it is raised and opens into a ¾ bed with a specially made mattress when lowered. The original paperwork for the Winsor bed shows a patent pending date of 1895. You can use the Victorian Cottage Room as a single room, a double room or share with family or friends and split the rate when you travel in the Elmira/Corning, NY area. Robes (2), clock radio, CD player, cable TV, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, overhead fan, air conditioning, wireless internet access (WiFi) are provided for your convenience.

Single occupancy: $105 per night plus tax
Double occupancy: $130 per night plus tax
$160 plus tax per night for 3-4 people  (limit 4)
Prices include a full breakfast and a complimentary
guest pantry.

Cancellation Policy

Thursday-Sunday reservations require 7-days notice and Monday-Wednesday reservations require 48 hours notice for cancellation.  A cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of one night’s stay plus a $10 processing fee will be charged to your credit card if we do not receive proper notice and are unable to rebook the room.
